FNP helps youth and families find their way through the mental health and addictions system. While FNP does not provide treatment or crisis response, it connects youth and families to a Family Navigator who helps them figure out where to go, who to talk to, and what services or resources might be the best fit.
Family Navigators work closely with each youth and family to identify service and resource options to help them access the care they need. FNP refers to this kind of support as mental health and addictions navigation, supporting youth and families in accessing timely and appropriate care.
FNP's vision is that no youth or family feels lost in the mental health and addictions system.
There is no time limit to navigation. FNP understands each person's journey is different, so FNP stays involved until each youth and their family are connected to the right services.
Youth ages 11 to 29 years can reach out directly on their own.
FNP is offered free of charge, thanks to the generosity of our donors.
No. No referral, formal diagnosis, or OHIP card is required to access FNP.
